DOMAINE DE BEAURENARD Red
a selection of the best slope and terraced parcels, characterised by a marvellous blue-clay and chalk soil which imparts great depth and minerality to the wine. Varietal mix: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah.
The grapes are destemmed, lightly crushed, and fermented with natural yeast (no additives, in order to maximise the local character) and undergo long vatting in order to fully extract the concentration achieved in the vineyards and to maximise refinement of the extracted phenolic constituents.
Les Argiles Bleues has naturally dense tannins, and undergoes a special maturation during ageing in small new-oak foudres (30hl) for 15-18 months. This produces concentrated wines of great finesse and elegance.
The wine is bottled unfiltered at the estate, then stored in our underground cellar at constant temperature. Production is low.
